Leading software expert takes the reins of product innovation as company announces record year
London – Feb 25, 2019: VTS, the commercial real estate industry’s leading leasing and asset management platform, has appointed experienced software executive Gijo Mathew as Chief Product Officer. The appointment comes as the company announced its most successful year to date, reaching a milestone with 10 billion square feet (the equivalent of more than 19,000 buildings the size of The Gherkin) now being managed on the platform in 35 countries, 19 of which are in continental Europe. The UK business has doubled in size with one in every three sq ft of office space in Central London now live on VTS and adoption pushing one billion square feet across wider Europe.
Gijo Mathew joins VTS from Web.com where he served as Chief Product Officer for over two years. He was responsible for the strategy and execution of a product portfolio that generated more than $800 million in revenue, across a mix of B2C and B2B products. Mathew has also held senior product leadership roles at Nimsoft, Orchestria and CA Technologies.
Mathew’s hire follows the announcement of three new products aimed at transforming commercial real estate – VTS 3, the next generation leasing and asset management platform, VTS MarketView real-time market benchmarking and the VTS marketplace for tenants and landlords to interact and lease space. Mathew will oversee and drive product vision to develop and deliver the unique market offerings.

A record number of new clients in 2018 across all three sectors, office, industrial, and retail, chose VTS as their leasing and asset management solution in Europe, including UBS, Canary Wharf Group, Valor Real Estate Partners, Europa Capital, Generali Real Estate, HB Reavis, Logicor, UK Land Estates, Capital Industrial, Cromwell Property Group and Shelborn Asset Management, to name a few, with notable expansion from Marathon Asset Management, Cording Real Estate Group, British Land, LandSec, CBRE Global Investors, Stenprop and Angelo Gordon.
2018 also saw VTS experience strong uptake by commercial real estate agents, with BNP Paribas, Cushman & Wakefield, Bray Fox Smith and Knight Frank expanding their use of VTS in the UK, while CBRE and Savills expanded their use of the platform into continental Europe. In August, JLL also selected VTS as its exclusive leasing and asset management software across the Americas, the first time a global brokerage firm has provided VTS to all their brokers and leasing teams in the Americas. The move aligned with JLL’s ongoing strategy to build a best-in-class technology stack.
