10 CRE Journalists You Should Follow on Twitter
A few weeks ago, we put together a list of top CRE thought leaders to follow on Twitter. But, that was just the tip of the iceberg. Today, we’re looking to the commercial real estate journalists with great Twitter accounts that share some of the best stories about the industry. While there are many more CRE journalists, these are the ones with great presence in the Twitter-sphere.
A follow for everybody:
1. Eliot Brown, WSJ
Eliot Brown is one of the most followed CRE reporters on Twitter, with over 8,000 followers. And there is a reason he is so followed. He puts a CRE lens on many national and local issues, and distills interesting points from each article before sharing it.
2. David Levitt, Bloomberg
David Levitt is probably the savviest twitter presence on the list. His tweets are chockful of color commentary, pithy insights, and relevant hashtags. It’s hard to not find his feed both informative and enjoyable.
3. Keiko Morris, WSJ
You can think of Keiko Morris’ Twitter feed as the best WSJ articles that every CRE professional should read. Follow her if you want a carefully curated pulse on the major beats and themes of the industry.
4. Kathy Clarke, TRD
Kathy Clarke shares a lot of articles about the people and the firms behind real estate, adding a much more human element to the traditional news approach. Although she’s based in NYC, she shares stories from all over the country.
5. Kara Wetzel, Bloomberg
As Bloomberg’s Editor for U.S. real estate, Kara Wetzel’s scope of the market is impressively diverse. Her tweets follow suit. She regularly tweets about the biggest deals and the major trends in different cities around the country.
6. Peter Grant, WSJ
Don’t expect to read about too many specific leases or deals on Peter Grant’s feed. As editor in charge for the WSJ’s CRE coverage, his eyes are on the much larger stories and trends. And his Twitter feed reflects that.
7. Emily Wright, Estates Gazette
If you have any interest in international trends, Emily Wright is simply a must-follow. She does a wonderful job of retweeting interesting insights from other users and publications. You will certainly get the most varied perspective from her feed.

8. Lois Weiss, NY Post
Louis Weiss has one of the best Twitter feeds dedicated to New York real estate. It’s a good combination of news and market analysis. She’s a must-follow if you’re in the market. Truth be told, she’s a good follow even if you don’t focus on real estate.
9. Ryan Ori, Crain’s Chicago
Ryan Ori’s Twitter feed is fairly specific to Chicago, and is a prime example of market-specific chatter. He is constantly sharing all different types of stories about Chicago, creating a remarkably comprehensive view of the city. If you work in Chicago, follow him.
10. Tim Logan, Boston Globe
A powerhouse of a tweeter, with nearly 12,000 tweets, Tim Logan offers real-time analysis of real estate and development in Boston. He is particularly adept at re-tweeting with additional commentary and posting visuals with his tweets.
